Summer in the City

New York City is quite possibly my favorite place on earth, so imagine my excitement when a friend invited me to stay with her for the weekend. The bright lights and fast pace of the city is a sharp contrast compared to the suburbs of Maryland, but the best part of travelling in my opinion is getting out of your comfort zone. It’s no secret that New York is HUGE (given it’s five boroughs and intricate metro system), and it’s easy to get lost if you have absolutely no idea where you’re going, or what you’re looking for. SO, that being said, here are some of my favorite places that I visited, that’ll be sure to satisfy you whether you’re looking to eat, shop, or just enjoy the beauty of the city! For the Thrifters NYC is known for its unique people and their interesting fashion taste, so what better way to get to know the local style than by visiting their local thrift stores! Thrift shopping has always been one of my favorite pastimes, but thrifting …

Favorite Things of June/July

From New Hampshire, to California, to a camping trip in the mountains, then finally back home, the things I’ve been liking a lot have been a bit all over the place (just like me!) Since he moved, my brother, sister, and I have visted him here for a month or so every summer. Long story short- I love it so much that if I didn’t love my life in Maryland just as much, I’d come live with my dad. Today was so incredibly fun, and I’m completely exhausted after it (that’s how you know you’ve truly enjoyed yourself.) My only Californian friend, Alysen, picked me up this morning around 11am, and we spent the whole day exploring cute little shops and eating really good food. We started out in Costa Mesa, where we had planned to eat at Seabirds, but as we approached the resturaunt, we saw a sign saying they would be closed until dinner-time. At the moment, this was devestaing (only because I hadn’t eaten breakfast and I tend to be completely over-dramatic) but then after sitting in the parking-lot of …
